Borough Council hedge trimming programme underway
Published on Tuesday, 28th September 2021
We are now operating our annual hedge trimming programme across the Borough.
We are advising residents that although the trimming this year will look quite severe, this is in line with our schedule for extensive trimming. This kind of cutting back is required periodically to ensure that hedges do not obstruct public access ways and ensure the safety of our residents.
More than 20 miles of Council hedges will be trimmed during this time, and as long as weather and ground conditions permit, the work will continue until the end of November.
Cllr Julian Gutteridge, Portfolio holder for Health and Environment said:
“Although the trimming will look a little severe, this kind of cutting back is required every few years to ensure that the hedges in and around our Borough do not obstruct public highways and byways.
Please do not be alarmed at the severity of the trimming and bear with us if you see our teams working in your local area, many thanks.”
