Aspirational market trial to boost Bedworth town centre

Bedworth market is set to trial stalls in All Saints Square on Fridays from this week, October 1.
Following a consultation on hosting market stalls in All Saints Square in Bedworth, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will conduct a 6-month trial from October 2021 to March 2022.
This scheme was a key manifesto commitment of the new leadership administration.
All traders from Bedworth and Nuneaton’s markets have been offered the opportunity to take part, with 19 stalls confirmed so far. There will be a range of stalls selling items from clothing and footwear through to vinyl records and confectionery.
The covered market will be open as normal throughout the trial period.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council leader Cllr Kristofer Wilson was happy to see the trial go ahead, he said:
‘’Yet again, this is another example of the new Conservative administration keeping its promise that was made at the election. This trial is forming part of the wider plans to regenerate Bedworth Town Centre and restore some of the economic vitality to the town. If we always do the same thing we won’t achieve the change that Bedworth needs. I hope that if this does prove to be a success, that it will encourage a higher footfall in the town centre and give a boost to all local businesses and traders.
“At the end of the trial the results and impact of the initiative will be assessed together with further consultation with key stakeholders. A decision will then be made as to future of the initiative.”
