Have your say on alcohol and substance misuse

Published on Wednesday, 11th August 2021

We are currently conducting public consultations on two proposed Public Space Protection Orders to help stop alcohol and novel psychoactive substance misuse related anti-social behaviour.

The Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Communities Partnership has been working with partners to address anti-social behaviour in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

As part of the partnership approach towards this problem, it was decided to apply for two Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) to address both alcohol misuse, novel psychoactive substance misuse (such as the gas inhaled from the little canisters we see discarded all over the Borough), and any related anti-social behaviour in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

We are now at the consultation phase for this Order and are seeking the views of the public. The comments will be reviewed before the decision is taken whether to proceed or not.

The orders are now live on our website here where you can read an overview of the PSPO and complete your views in a questionnaire.

The consultation period runs until 5 September and all comments received during that time will be considered and be used to inform the final Orders.

A hard copy of the proposed order is also available for inspection at Nuneaton Town Hall, Coton Road, Nuneaton CV11 5AA, however, this is by prior appointment only on Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm and can be arranged by calling 02476 376376.

Alternatively, postal responses should be sent to the Communities Team, Town Hall, Coton Road, Nuneaton CV11 5AA by 5 September 2021.
