Group Exhibition Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery 21 August – 17 October 2021
An explosion of colourful threads fills the gallery at Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery.
Jeudis - Connected by Thread explores the diversity of styles and vision in the development of traditional textile crafts as art. Using different methods and approaches in their work, Jeudis members are united in creating stunning 2D and 3D work incorporating thread. Each artist in the exhibition engages with the medium of thread in a variety of ways, including using skills such as wet felting, quilting, collage, hand, and hand stitching.
Councillor Kyle Evans, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture says:
“It is wonderful to see an exhibition where craft meets art. You really have to appreciate how much skill is presented in such an array of interesting works.’’
Jeudis is a group that brings together the work of East Midlands artists who incorporate thread in their multidisciplinary art practices. Founded in 2006 to provide focus and encouragement for individuals to develop their art practice, the group regularly come together to exhibit across the UK.
All works in the exhibition will be available to buy alongside some fantastic additions to the Museum Shop including cards, needle-cases, and jewellery.
