The Borough Council will fly the Armed Forces Day flag to mark Armed Forces week and celebrate Armed Forces Day.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the usual borough Armed Forces Day celebrations have unfortunately been cancelled once again this year.

To pay tribute, the Council will fly the Armed Forces Day flag on the Town Hall in Nuneaton throughout Armed Forces week, which takes place from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 June, and to mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26 June.

Even without a borough event, you can still show your support in other ways. Post a ‘salute’ picture on social media or fly your own Armed Forces Day flag or bunting. Visit armedforcesday.org.uk to discover the ways you can get involved.

Cllr Samuel Croft, Portfolio holder for Finance and Corporate said:

“We have a fantastic military heritage in the borough and the Armed Forces Day flag will be proudly flying on top of the Town Hall as a mark of respect for all those dedicated individuals who have served our country so bravely.

“While it is regrettable that our usual borough events will not be able to take place due to the current restrictions, I am glad that we can still mark the day in this way, and I hope you will be able to get involved in other ways to show your support.”
