Published on Wednesday, 17th March 2021
With Covid restrictions easing from 29th March 2021, Bedworth Disc Golf Club are excited to announce they will be holding their first tournament of 2021 on 4th April.
The club hosted the British Championships, at the end of October 2020, for the first time at their course, based within Miners’ Welfare Park, under Government Covid restrictions and a robust Risk Assessment in place.
Nial Al-Zanki Grimes, Club Chairman said:
‘The sport has seen a rapid growth over recent years, especially through the lockdown period, there has been a massive increase in participation. The growth is something we can really harness to further the growth of the club and solidify Bedworth as the premier place to come and compete in the UK.’
With this in mind they are hoping to hold many of these smaller events safely going forward.
Cllr Ian Lloyd, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s portfolio holder for Arts and Leisure commented:
‘It’s always so positive when we see the growth of a sport within the borough and with the sport of disc golf it opens up not only the opportunity to join a club but also for individuals and also families to participate in something that is accessible to all within one of the Borough’s Premier Parks.’
