Homes England give Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council the green light!

A Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council development - Pine Tree Road in Bedworth, has passed a Homes England audit with flying colours.
The annual Compliance Audit programme provides assurance that organisations receiving a grant have met all of Homes England’s requirements, and funding conditions and have properly exercised their responsibilities as set out in its Capital Funding Guide. The audit is carried out by an independent auditor and then reviewed by Homes England.
The Pine Tree Road development achieved the highest pass mark of ‘green’, which means that the site met all requirements. In addition, the Borough Council also received confirmation that it will continue to be qualified as a Homes England Investment Partner for 2020-21. This means that the Council will be able to participate in the new, Affordable Homes Programme 2021-26 and can continue to apply for Homes England funding for its future development sites, enabling more affordable homes for rent to be built across the Borough.
Cllr Christopher Watkins - Portfolio holder for Housing and Communities was delighted with the news, he said:
“This is great news; we now know what to do to achieve a ‘green pass’ for our developments. The reassurance from Homes England that we can remain a funding partner means that we can look forward to a bright future of providing local people with affordable homes in the Borough.”
