Changes at Marston Lane Cemetery

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has put new arrangements in place for visitors to Marston Lane Cemetery in Bedworth.
Vehicle gates at the site are to remain closed and a new entrance opened up, with car parking spaces next to the Cemetery made available for visitors.
All entrances will remain usable by pedestrians. The measures have been introduced with immediate effect. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council portfolio holder for arts and leisure, Cllr Ian Lloyd, said:
“Recent snow and wet weather over a number of weeks has left ground within the Cemetery extremely wet and soft. Although we have put notices in place asking people to keep off these areas, too many people have been failing to co-operate, driving over grassed areas and parking on grass.
“All this is causing damage to the Cemetery areas, spoiling the area for other users and increasing the time and cost of ongoing maintenance.
“We have put these measures in place to help maintain the Cemetery for all users of the site. We ask for people’s patience and co-operation to help make these arrangements work. We will keep them under review in the coming months.”
