Additional Restrictions Grants
Published on Wednesday, 25th November 2020
We are pleased to announce that our Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) scheme is now available for businesses who have suffered severe losses due to COVID-19.
Under this scheme, we have received government funding to pay discretionary grants to businesses that don't qualify for help under the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme, and for those that have been most impacted by the current national restrictions.
The ARG is open to all business with a Rateable Value, annual Rental or annual Mortgage charge of up to £71k, however there are exceptions to this (please refer to our Policy). The Policy also includes an Exceptional Hardship Fund.
Please find details of the Policy and of how to apply on our website here
Lee Osborne, FSB Development Manager, Coventry and Warwickshire said:
“As all eyes are now on emerging from lockdown, we cannot forget that businesses throughout our area still need support. The end of this lockdown does not mean the end of difficult times for small firms. It is therefore critically important that grants reach as many of those in needs as swiftly as possible. FSB has called for those who have been left out of support programmes – company directors, the newly self-employed, those without premises and those further down the supply chains – to be assisted. I am pleased to see that consideration has been given by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to support a wider range of businesses through the Additional Restrictions Grant. I encourage local firms to take at a look at the eligibility criteria and apply as soon as possible.”
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council Leader, Cllr Julie Jackson added:
“During this very difficult time we are doing our very best to roll out as much support as we can to as many local businesses as possible.
“This grant will help provide support for those businesses that don't qualify for help under the Local Restrictions Support Grant. Please take a look at the policy and apply as soon as you can if you think your business is eligible.”
