Let's do the right thing for Nuneaton & Bedworth

We are now at a crucial point, everyone, regardless of age, needs to do their bit to help stop the spread of the virus and avoid a move into Tier 2.

Following a meeting of the Leaders & Chief Executives of all Warwickshire borough/district and county councils yesterday, it was agreed that Nuneaton and Bedworth along with the rest of the county, will remain in Tier 1 – ‘Medium’ – for the time being.

However, remaining in Tier 1 is under a rolling review and as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise both in the Borough and the rest of Warwickshire there is an increased risk of being escalated to Tier 2.

The number of new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days in Nuneaton and Bedworth is now 252 and the current rate per 100,000 is 194.

We are now at a crucial point, everyone, regardless of age, needs to do their bit to help stop the spread of the virus and avoid a move into Tier 2.

Let’s do the right thing for Nuneaton and Bedworth. Please closely follow Tier 1 restrictions and in addition remember the basics – HANDS, FACE, SPACE.

Councillor Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“Cases in the Borough continue to rise, and we move closer to the tipping point of moving into Tier 2, it is now crucial that we all closely follow the rules to ensure that this does not happen.  Please help do everything you can to help stop the spread of the virus and keep yourself, friends and family safe.”
