Nuneaton Market partially cancelled due to gale force winds

Published on Friday, 30th October 2020

Nuneaton’s regular street market has been cancelled for tomorrow, Saturday 31 October.

Traders selling essential, perishable goods have been offered the opportunity to trade directly from their vehicles throughout the day.

Rain and 20mph constant winds with 40mph gusts are forecast for Saturday, the severity of which are beyond the recommended tolerance for the stalls and make it unsafe to set up and run the market.

Jonathan White, Head of Town Centres and Marketing said:

“It is unfortunate that we have to cancel the market, but we have no choice but to take this decision in the interests of public safety. Trade of essential, perishable goods from vehicles will still be able to take place. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
