Nuneaton market cancelled due to strong winds
Published on Tuesday, 25th August 2020
Unfortunately, due to a Met Office yellow warning forecast for high winds, we have had to make the decision to cancel Nuneaton Market tomorrow, 26 August.
Wind speeds are predicted to reach gusts of 43mph which are beyond the recommended tolerance for the stalls and safe operating limits.
We will however be operating a partial cancellation and will be allowing traders of perishable goods to trade directly from their vehicles.
Jonathan White, Head of Town Centres and Marketing for the Council said:
“In the interest of public safety we have no choice but to cancel the market, all options are always considered prior to making the decision to cancel. We understand the disappointment for both the traders and general public as a result of the cancellation, but our priority is always the safety of all those concerned.”
