On 11th June 2020, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council launched a discretionary grant scheme for small businesses, utilising funding received from the Government. This scheme has proven extremely popular with 145 applications being received from small businesses within the borough. Whilst work continues to gather further information from some applicants, the Council is pleased to announce that payments to the first 35 businesses have been made today. This financial support will help businesses to continue to move forward during this difficult period of economic recovery.
Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of the Council said:
"Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has always prioritised our business community. I am very pleased to be able to offer some level of financial support to our small businesses who, along with companies up and down the country, are experiencing great challenges during these unprecedented times. I hope that the payments, totalling £191,000 , that we have made today, will provide some relief. We will continue to offer as much support as possible and continue to work with our partners at the CWLEP Growth Hub and the Federation of Small Businesses to ensure that the help and advice needed by businesses is available to them."
