The Council ask for tolerance towards Ground Maintenance staff

Published on Wednesday, 6th May 2020

Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Leisure, has asked for tolerance and understanding from members of the public towards both NBBC staff and contractors.

This follows a recent incident of abusive behaviour towards members of the Grounds Maintenance Team working on behalf of the Council.

Cllr Lloyd said:

“Whilst operations are carrying on, they must be undertaken safely and with regard to social distancing.

“We please ask that if you see our grounds maintenance staff or associates working within the Borough that you treat them with the respect that they deserve and allow them to carry out their work in a safe manner.”

The incident in question has been reported to the police for investigation.

Stay at home

  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
  • If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home
  • Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.
