NBBC is asking business operators to observe social distancing requirements in light of complaints from concerned members of the public

NBBC are asking for co-operation from businesses that are continuing to operate during the COVID-19 crisis as complaints are being received about them not maintaining social distancing.
The Government has put measures in place to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection.
Complaints have been received about businesses trying to operate from their home addresses and inviting customers to collect goods. This is leading to non-essential journeys being made by their customers; nuisance complaints from neighbours and problems with maintaining social distancing as goods are collected and payments made.
If you are continuing to run your business and perhaps have changed the way you do things to be able to continue operating, the Council advises you to consult the guidance on the government’s website to make sure you are acting responsibly, adhering to the social distancing guidance and with regard for your neighbours.
Deputy Leader of the Council and Portfolio holder for Planning, Development and Health, Cllr Neil Phillips said:
“I am sure that our business operators and residents would not wish to put others in the community at increased risk of contracting coronavirus by not taking the precautions advocated by the government and their medical advisers. I would urge businesses to check the Government’s website for information about what they should be doing. They can also contact our officers who will be happy to assist with their enquiries. We will of course be investigating any complaints that are received.”
If any business operator requires any further information about the above, you can contact the Business Regulation and Support Team (Tel: 02476 376401 or email: email@example.com)
