COVID-19 support from Warwickshire

Councils in Warwickshire, working with the NHS, Police, community and voluntary groups, are supporting the people of Warwickshire through the COVID-19 crisis.

Councils are providing dedicated support to residents the NHS has identified as extremely clinically vulnerable but recognise that others may also need extra help at this time.

Anyone who is vulnerable as a result of COVID-19 and is isolated without access to support from family, friends or neighbours is also encouraged to get in touch to discuss their circumstances and their needs. Help will be offered directly from services or through Warwickshire’s fantastic voluntary groups and growing number of volunteers.

People over 70, those with underlying health conditions, suffering COVID-19 symptoms or facing issues related to isolation can call 0800 4081447 or their local council, visit council webpages or for specific help at this time go to www.warwickshire.gov.uk/coronavirusvulnerable.

Monica Fogarty, Chief Executive at Warwickshire County Council said:

“We want to reassure people that we are here to help them, especially the most vulnerable. Older people, families, care leavers and other vulnerable groups with no support at this time are encouraged to get in touch with us so we can ensure they are not facing the challenges of COVID-19 alone.

“Our local services can help people directly, provide a range of information and help access emotional, financial and practical support such as our virtual library services. In addition, we can connect people to local networks to make sure they have access to essential supplies and medication. Our offices may be closed but our services remain open, and we are totally committed to supporting our most vulnerable residents through the current situation.”

Councillor Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:

“We want to reassure people that we are here for them, there is a wide range of services available to those who are isolated and vulnerable, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you need help.

“Please still get in touch directly with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council if you need help and advice on any of our services. Even though our doors are closed we are still available and working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can keep providing essential services to our residents.”
