Rent free period for Nuneaton & Bedworth market traders
Published on Friday, 20th March 2020
Our markets and their traders are a very important part of our community, so we are offering our support to help.
In order to support our market traders during these uncertain times in light of the coronavirus outbreak, the Borough Council will be suspending all market rent to help reduce the financial strain that traders may face.
In these difficult circumstances, market traders will be able to run their stalls rent free until further notice.
We are closely monitoring and implementing advice from central government and will continue to run our markets until advised to do otherwise.
Cllr Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council said:
“We understand that it could be difficult for traders to pay rent during such unfortunate circumstances due to the coronavirus outbreak, especially if they are solely self-employed. Our markets and their traders are a very important part of our community, so we are offering our support to help.
“If we do need to cancel the markets in future we will keep our residents updated, but at this moment in time Nuneaton and Bedworth markets will continue to run as normal.”
In order to reduce the transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19) please ensure you follow government guidelines on social distancing, self-isolation and hygiene, which can be found here
