The Nuneaton 5K Fun Run was a huge success!

The Nuneaton 5K Fun Run last Sunday had an amazing turn out, with 176 people who ran, walked or pushed a buggy.
Race finishers gave good feedback, saying that they had a lovely time and that it was a well organised day.
Despite the shower of rain during one point, participants still finished the race quickly which showed their determination.
The Mayor distributed T-shirts to the children who took part, which were designed by the year 5 student from Race Leys Junior School who won the 5K Fun Run T-shirt design competition.
Fyffes donated bananas, and other fruit and cereal bars were donated from Edible Links so people had a variety to choose from once they had finished the race.
Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Arts and Leisure said:
“We are delighted that this year’s Fun Run was a success yet again! It’s lovely to see families come together to enjoy a day of exercise whilst having a good time too. The race is for all ages and abilities, so events like this are a great opportunity to bring the community together.”
Joe Warren, Contract Manager at Everyone Active said:
“It was fantastic to support this year’s 5K Family Fun Run and see so many enthusiastic runners take part. We hope all the families and participants had a great day getting active together for a worthwhile cause. Well done to everyone who took part!”
The money raised from the entry fees for The Mayor's Appeal came to around £650, which will go towards providing a serenity garden for stroke and dementia patients at the George Eliot Hospital.
We would also like to thank all the organisers and stewards who gave up their Sunday morning to contribute to making the Fun Run a fantastic event to remember.
