Targeting illegal road users in Nuneaton and Bedworth

A crack down on illegal road users saw Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council work together with Warwickshire Police.
The ANPR operation was a success with 13 vehicles seized, nine for no insurance, one for driving whilst otherwise in accordance with a license and three for no tax.
Of the 10 seized for no insurance; two were also reported for no mot, one for no tax and two for bald tyres and one for disqualified driving. Three others were also reported for no MOT.
PC Jamie Bonser, Cross Border Enforcement Team, said:
"I am happy with the outcome of the operation.
“It is clear from the results that Warwickshire police will proactively target people using the roads illegally.
“We aim to make the roads a safer place and bring those acting illegally to justice while causing as little disruption to the honest motorist as possible"
Danny Aldington, Portfolio Holder for Planning and Development, said:

“Working in collaboration on such initiatives acts as an effective deterrent against crime and helps protect our communities”.
