Funding boost for Bailey Park in Bedworth

A new green gym has been given the go-ahead after securing a funding boost from SUEZ Communities Trust.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council received £20,000 for the Accessing Fitness For All project to purchase and install outdoor equipment at Bailey Park, in Bedworth, on an unused hard standing area.
This will provide residents much needed access to a free to use gym at any time of day.
It will also remove a number of barriers - including time, cost, travel, and childcare - faced by the local community.
The Old Collycroft Residents Association (OCRA) are working in partnership the council to support the project.
Ian Lloyd, portfolio holder for Arts and Leisure, said:
“This is great news in our continual effort to increase health and well-being for local residents.
“We want all our residents to make best use of our open spaces and this project will certainly support that.
“The partnership working with the local Councillors and OCRA has been crucial in achieving this outcome and we look forward to residents reaping the rewards in many years to come”.
Marianne Ivin of SUEZ Communities Trust, said:
“SUEZ Communities Trust provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.4 billion.”
