Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) progress

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Charging Schedule, if adopted, would outline the fees the Council would charge for different types of development in order to assist in the delivery of infrastructure required to support development. So far, the Preliminary Draft Charging Schedule and Draft Charging Schedule have been published, however at a Cabinet meeting on 26th May 2021, the council resolved not to submit the CIL Charging Schedule to the Secretary of State for independent examination, and to keep legislation and government policy under review in order to further consider whether a revised levy approach is required for the council to pursue.
