What are Acceptable Behaviour Contracts?

One course of action is to set out a list of guidelines for the person committing ASB to follow. This can be especially useful with children and teenagers. An Acceptable Behaviour Contract is drawn up between the Council and Police and can describe what the person cannot do (such as be in a certain place) and / or what they should do (like attend a particular programme).

They are voluntary and last for 6 months. If a person breaches the contract then the next action is likely to be more severe.
