Taxi (hackney carriage) and private hire licensing

A private hire operator's licence is required to enable a person to accept or invite bookings for private hire vehicles.

How to apply

• Complete a private hire operators application form
• The current fee is £223 for a new application and the first licence will last for one year
• A subsequent renewal for three years is £184 and for five years is £305

Conditions

Applications are only processed providing the correct fee has been submitted with the application.
