Draft Sex Establishment Licensing Policy

Information provided to you as an Interested Party

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council adopted schedule 3 to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 subsequently called “the Act” with regard to Sex Cinemas and Sex Shops in 2002. The Council  adopted the additional legislative provisions of “the Act” (as amended by Section 27 of the Policing and Crime Act 2009) on the 8th September 2010 so that sex shops, sex cinemas, and sexual entertainment venues can be licensed by the Council.

The Council now wishes to consult on a new Sex Establishment Licensing Policy and Conditions - which sets out the policies and principles that the Council will apply when carrying out its licensing functions under the legislation.

As part of the adoption process the Council wishes to seek the views of those who may be affected by or have an interest in the draft policy.

Should you wish to make any comments on this draft Policy please do so by Thursday 20th April 2018 via email to: licensing@nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk
