Grounds maintenance

Trees

Trees on or near the highway

Trees on or near the highway i.e. grass verges or public footpath are the responsibility of Warwickshire County Council and should be reported directly to them.

Trees on public open space

Report overgrown trees

Trees within the borough parks and open spaces are managed by us.  Trees that are causing problems or that have large branches hanging down should be reported directly to us.  We will then carry out an assessment of the tree to see whether any urgent work is required.

If it is found that no immediate work is required, but some action will need to be taken soon, this work will be put on the rota for possible inclusion in the winter works programme.

Why not have a look at our Tree Policy to find out how we manage trees in the borough>

Trees from private property causing obstruction

Trees on a public thoroughfare that cause obstruction or restrict the view of road users may be regarded as a danger and Warwickshire County Council may serve notice on the tree's owner to address the problem.

Trees within council tenanted properties

If a tree is sited within a council tenant's garden you must liaise directly with your appropriate housing officer.

Tree Preservation Orders (TPO)

For information relating to existing tree preservation orders and potentially new TPO, contact the council's planning department.
