Learning with the museum

Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery offers a range of activities, sessions and resources for learning to groups of all ages.


Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery provides a unique opportunity for your pupils. Our programme of school resources offer a range of supported and self led activities to help make the most of the Museum. Advance booking is essential for all schools wanting to make a group visit. The more we know about your requirements and pupil needs, the easier it is for us to provide a memorable visit.

George Eliot & The Victorians. Key Stage 1 / 2. Fully supported session lasting 1.5 hours. Your pupils have the opportunity to handle Victorian objects, dress up, learn about local auther George Eliot and study artwork in the Museum's Picture Gallery. £3 per child, minimum booking of £50.

The Time Traveller's Mission. New for 2019. Key Stage 2. Fully supported workshop lasting 1.5 hours. Your pupils will solve puzzles, crack codes, handle artefacts and dress up to uncover dates for historical periods. Pupils will work together to uncover key events throughout British and local Nuneaton history. £3 per child, minimum booking of £50.

Join in with our FREE Saturday Event Days. Meet a character from history, listen to a story or work with an artist. These special days promise lots of interest and entertainment for everyone.

Get hands on with Museum objects every third Saturday of the month. Join one of our Museum Access Assistants as they spotlight objects from the Museum's collections.

Under 5s can enjoy a range of activities throughout the museum. Colour in, dress up or make some noise with our musical instruments and rhymes! Regular storytelling sessions are held at the museum on:

  • Third Wednesday of every month between 11.15am and 11.45am

Our new Museum Explorers packs provide resources for under 5s to explore the Museum in lots of different ways. Ask for details at Museum reception.


The Museum's Lunchtime Talks programme provides the perfect opportunity to meet with others and learn about new topics.  To book a FREE place please telephone, email or pop into the main Museum reception.
