Events and activities at the museum

The museum is packed with varied and exciting opportunities for children and adults alike.  The museum's programme includes:

  • Storytelling for Under 5s
  • Friday Lunchtime Talks

Remember all events and activities are free.  However we do welcome donations so we can continue to provide a varied and full programme.

 

Our next Storytelling Session

A Tea Party in the Park - Wednesday, 18 July 2018, 11.15am - 11.45am

Join Melly for a special Tea Party in Riversley Park .  Make some noise and have some fun!

Weather permitting this session may take place outside so please meet at reception. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  No booking required.

 

Our next FREE Saturday Event Day

Go Wild!  Saturday, 14 July 2018

Listen to animal stories with storyteller Philippa Tipper and take part in an animal art workshop with artist Jhinuk Sarkar.  This coincides with our NEW animal trail.

No booking is required, just drop in from 11am until 4pm.  Donations are welcome.

 

Our next Lunchtime Talk

Edward Melly's European Tour - Friday, 20 July 2018, 12.30pm - 1.30pm

Find out about how the founder of the Museum spent his holidays with extracts from his own travel journals.  Our Learning & Engagement Manager, Matt Johnson,  takes a look at the life of this fascinating man.

Booking is essential as places are limited to 55.  To book a free place, please contact the Museum.  Donations are welcome.
