Guide To Extending Your Home

The Northern Warwickshire Building Control Partnership, with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council working together, inspect and monitor work covered by the building regulations.

Here, we explain how to ensure your project runs smoothly.

Building regulations set minimum standards to ensure buildings people live in, work in or visit every day are well constructed, safe, fuel efficient and provide a healthy environment. They also ensure that facilities are provided for people, including those with disabilities, to access and move around buildings.

With over 100 years' experience in the construction industry, the team at NWBCP cover everything from the erection or extension of a building and alterations that temporarily or permanently affect a building to the insertion of cavity wall insulation, the underpinning of foundations or a change in a building's fundamental use.

The team's surveyors and technical support are experienced in all forms of construction, including residential, commercial and new build. They also have extensive local knowledge and understanding of ground conditions throughout the districts. By providing general advice, plan checks and site inspections, they work to resolve any issues quickly to avoid delays to customers' projects.

NWBCP's technical support staff, have achieved or are training to achieve accreditation by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). They aim to turnaround applications within 48 hours, with 90% registered within 24 hours of being deposited.

This digital review contains a detailed overview of current building regulations and all the essential information on NWBCP to ensure your project goes smoothly:
