Council garages

End garage tenancy

The tenancy for a council garage can be terminated by either the council or you by giving at least one week's notice, which will expire at 12.00 noon on a Monday.  Before a tenancy ends the following conditions must be met:

• keys, including keys for barriers must be returned on the date of termination
• items owned by the tenant must be removed from the garage before it is vacated
• outstanding rent must be paid

Charges may be made if the council has to replace locks (including barrier keys), remove any items left in the garage or if there are any repairs needed which are not the result of normal wear and tear.
