Green bin - garden and food waste

What can I put in my green bin

Use the green bin service for all your leftover foods and food preparation waste:

  • meat and fish - raw and cooked including bones
  • fruit and vegetables - raw and cooked including peelings
  • dairy products such as eggs and cheese
  • bread, cakes and pastries
  • rice, pasta and beans
  • uneaten food from your plates and dishes
  • tea bags and coffee grounds

Use your green bin for your garden waste:

  • grass cuttings
  • shrub prunings and hedge trimmings
  • garden weeds, plants and leaves
  • flowers
  • bedding from herbivorous animals (rabbits and guinea pigs) sawdust, hay
  • tree branches (these should be cut up in to small pieces)

If you do not subscribe to the garden waste collection service, you can take these materials to Judkins to be recycled.
