Business Support Grants

With government announcement throughout the year there are several ways businesses can receive support through grants.

Businesses are able to claim more than one grant from the following, if they fall under the criteria set for each grant.  Check your eligibility for a grant.

Nuneaton and Bedworth have available on our website the following:

Local Restrictions Support Grant (National Lockdown)- Also known as LRSG (Closed) Addendum.

This is available for those businesses that were mandated to close during the period 5th November to 2nd December 2020. There are different levels of payment dependant on the amount of rateable value of the property and it is a one-off payment for a 28-day period.

Additional Restrictions Support Grant- Also known as ARG.

This is a discretionary grant, with a limited budget. It is to cover up to the end of 2022. The policy is set by each LA and you can find Nuneaton and Bedworth policy by following the link. Please read the policy to ensure you fall under the criteria before you make your application for this grant.

Nuneaton and Bedworth will shortly have available on our website the following grants:

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)- Also known as LRSG (Closed).

This will be available to businesses that are mandated to close in Tier 3 and in Tier 2 restrictions, from the effective date of the restriction. There are different levels of payment dependant on the amount of rateable value of the business and it is a payment for every full 14-day period the district remains in the restriction. Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open)- Also known as LRSG (Open)

This is available to businesses that are NOT mandated to close in Tier 3 or in Tier 2, but they have proven to be severely impacted. There are different levels of payment based on the rateable value of the business. It is a payment for every full 14-day period the district remains in the restriction. Please follow the link to read the policy to ensure you read the criteria before you make your application for this grant.

Tier 4

The Nuneaton and Bedworth district was placed under Tier 4 restrictions from 31st December 2020. For financial assistance under Tier 4, all those who have already applied for support through the existing LRSG and ARG schemes do not need to re-apply. Applications will be assessed against all of the grant schemes in place and appropriate awards made. Should we require further information from you, we will be in contact with you in due course. If you haven't already made an application and believe you may qualify, then please do so using our on-line application form.

National Lockdown

The whole of England is being placed under a national lockdown from 6th January 2021. We are currently waiting for further details of the Chancellor's announcement made on 5th January 2021 about further aid being made available to businesses under the national lockdown. We will look to make eligible payments as quickly as we can to all those businesses affected and who meet the criteria.

Closed Businesses Lockdown Payment

Businesses who receive a Non-Domestic Rates Bill that are entitled to Local Restriction Support Grant (closed) for the period 5 January to 15 February 2021 will also be entitled to a one off additional Closed Business Lockdown Payment.

The amount of award will be based on the size of the business premises using the rateable value of the property:

  • properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under will receive £4,000
  • properties with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 will receive £6,000
