The local authority is responsible for the removal of illegally posted advertisements, leaflets etc. on council owned property in the area. See information below on how to report instances of flyposting.
How to report
- Complete the online form to notify us.
- If possible, please make a note of:
- The day, date and time you saw the posting.
- What you saw:
- E.g. Description of the people who were flyposting
- Any vehicles involved - their make, colour and registration number
- The Council will need to check to see if planning permission exists and notify the appropriate department of problem.
- Please leave your contact details and you will be called back and advised when work will be undertaken or has been completed.
Conditions
- The council will remove all evidence of fly posting on public streets as part of its street cleaning programme. Public utilities e.g. telecom industry, public transport are responsible for removing fly posting from their property.
- Fly posting on private property, such as empty shops, is the responsibility of the property owner. The Council will work with property owners to try and address these problems.
- It is the responsibility of the property owner to remove such items fixed to private property.
