How to Request a Bus Pass
- Complete an application form either in person, or download one below.
- You must then present the following evidence in person, with your form at either the Nuneaton Town Hall or Bedworth Area Office :-
- A current passport sized photograph (please write your name and address on the reverse)
- Proof of residency, i.e. current utility bill, council tax bill, medical card, bank books etc
- Proof of Age, i.e. birth certificate, passport, driving licence or NHS Medical card. Photocopies are acceptable.
- Once checked your application will be processed and a local Nuneaton and Bedworth pass will be issued initially, this will enable you to travel for free within Warwickshire. This will be posted to you (2nd class) within 5 working days.
- We will also order you a National Pass which will be sent to you separately. This may take up between 2-3 weeks from date of application, as they are printed externally.
- Please note we cannot print your local pass until we have seen proof of residency and age. The passport photo is printed on the pass so we need this before we can produce the pass.
Conditions
- Eligibility - All permanent residents of the Borough who are 60 or over or qualifying disabled people of any age.
- You must live within the Borough.
Using the Pass
- Both the local and National Pass are issued free of charge by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council. Once you receive your National Pass you should destroy your local pass.
- The National Pass entitles you to travel without paying a fare throughout England, the local pass allows you to travel for free within the County of Warwickshire. Please note local passes are only valid until 30.9.08.
- It can be used for most `local` bus journeys, but is not accepted on trains, taxis or National Express Coaches.
- It is valid after 9.00am on weekdays and anytime at weekends and Bank Holidays, however this is a local discretion so if you travel outside of the County the National Pass is only valid from 9.30 am.
- You must always show your pass when you board the bus or you may not be allowed to travel free of charge.
- Return tickets will not be issued. Your pass must be produced on both the outward and return leg of your journey.
- The pass is for your personal use only and may not be used by any other person. It is not transferable
- Stolen passes will be replaced free of charge provided a valid crime number is obtained.
- If you lose your pass or it is damaged or destroyed a charge will be made to replace it. The fee for this is currently £10.00.
