Civil Parking Enforcement - Off Street

Civil Parking Enforcement - Council Car Parks (Off Street)

 
Civil Enforcement Officers will issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCN's) to those vehicles parked in contravention of  the Nuneaton and Bedworth Off Street Parking Places Order No (2) 2011.
 
 
If a vehicle is left in the parking place
 
a)     for longer than the maximum period of waiting specified in Article 7
 
 
b)      for longer than the period for which a charge has been paid for the parking of the vehicle as required by Article 21(1)
 
 
c)      without a ticket, permit or badge being exhibited on the vehicle  in accordance with Article 21(2),(3),(4),(5),(7),(8),(9)
 
 
d)     without the appropriate charge specified by article 21 and Part 1 of schedule 2 having been paid
 
 
e)     parked other than wholly within a parking space or other position in accordance with Article 5
 
f)        parked within a parking space which may in accordance with Article 6(1), only be used by a disabled person’s vehicle and no disabled person’s badge is displayed on the vehicle
 
g)     parked within a parking space which may, in accordance with Article 6(2), only be used for the parking of a vehicle using the Shopmobility Scheme and no Shopmobility permit is displayed on the vehicle
 
h)      parked within a parking space when a Toddler is not a passenger in the vehicle in accordance with Article 6(3)
 
i)        parked within a parking space dedicated for use of an electric vehicle when not connected to the electric charging point in accordance with Article 6(4)
 
j)        for any other contravention as specified within the Traffic Management Act 2004 or the Nuneaton and Bedworth Off Street Parking Places Order (No 2) 2011.
 
 

How much are Penalty Charge Notices (PCN’s)

 
There are two charges, a higher and lower level, and the one that applies depends on the contravention that has occurred.
This could be £70 discounted to £35 if paid within the first 14 days of when the Notice was issued/served, or £50 discounted to £25 if paid within the first 14 days of when the Notice was issued/served.

Cheques or postal orders should be crossed and made payable to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council
 
Please write the PCN number on the back of the cheque or postal order, and enclose the tear off slip from the bottom of the notice.

Any enquiry, query or challenge with regard to the issue of a PCN should be made in writing to the postal address above
 
 
  • Our parking appeals team will investigate the case.
  • They will contact you with the decision in writing.
  • If it hasn't been cancelled and you are still not satisfied, we will tell you how to appeal to the Traffic Penalty Tribunal (TPT), this is an independent appeal service whose decision is binding on both parties.
