Towns Businesses Unite to Benefit All
A new Town Centres Management Partnership initiative is being launched to encourage businesses in the towns of Nuneaton and Bedworth to join a membership scheme that benefits both the businesses through their ‘bottom line’ and also the community with the services they receive.
The scheme will have the aims of developing a better town centres environment which is accessible, welcoming and safe. It will also attract more investment with better promotion including activities and events giving the town centres a well cared for appearance through a robust partnership.
Councillor Dennis Harvey, Leader of the Council said:
‘Over the last few years Nuneaton and Bedworth have improved their standing within the business world. We have seen investment in Nuneaton with Rope Walk and the markets which have benefited the town. In Bedworth new development has been attracted with Aldi committing to build a store and the indoor market vastly improved in its appearance. This new initiative will enable the private and public sector to work closely together for the benefit of all and the community will have towns of which to be proud’
The businesses will have benefits from the membership including crime initiatives, newsletters, profile and performance reports, representation, joint promotion and chances of sponsorship and many other benefits not available to non-members.
There will be a scheme for Nuneaton and one for Bedworth to deal with matters relating to the individual towns which then ‘feed’ to the town centres partnership management board.
Paul Lancaster, Chair of the Nuneaton Business Alliance said:
‘This is an opportunity for businesses and the council to work together to ensure that business in Nuneaton and Bedworth are vibrant. The towns must continue to develop in a very competitive arena as there is plenty of competition around from other towns. By working together and promoting the businesses I am sure the towns will be vibrant. We all need to be united in achieving our aims.’
