Opening Of Improved Customer Service Centre Draws Near

Artist Impression of new Customer Services Reception due to open October 2007
Local people in Nuneaton and Bedworth will soon be able to see and use the Council’s new customer services centre in the Town Hall. Work on building the exciting new facilities began at the start of July and are now nearing their completion as planned.

The new facilities, and improved ways of working they will help to make possible, will allow the Council to improve further the way it deals with the full range of its customers. People will be able to access all Borough Council Services in one place through the mutli-skilled team of advisers. Customers will also be able to access a number of Warwickshire County Council Services when the new facilities open at the end of September and over time the range of County Council services delivered at the Town Hall will increase further. The spacious new facilities will also have improved accessibility for customers with disabilities.

Councillor Julie Jackson, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Central Services said:

‘I am delighted that we are nearing the end of the work to build our new customer service centre in the Town Hall and that we are still on track to have the facilities opened at the end of September.  When finished these modern facilities, will help us to continue to deliver one of our key corporate aims of providing quality services which represent value for money to the citizens of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough. In particular the fact that people will no longer have to go the Town Hall for some services and the Council House for others will be a big improvement on our previous arrangements.

I realise that the temporary arrangements that we have had in place over the last few weeks in the Council House have been less than ideal, and I’d like to say thank you to our customers for their patience while we have been carrying out the building works in the Town Hall.’
