Oh Yes They Did !
More than 600 regular attendees of the free play service attended the Civic Hall in Bedworth to enjoy a performance of the pantomime Sleeping Beauty. The youngsters were joined at the venue by the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, Councillor Neil Phillips.
The Civic Hall’s production of Sleeping Beauty has been a big hit with pantomime fans across the Borough and the cast were happy to put on a special performance of the show especially for the youngsters and their families.
The annual visit to the pantomime is a highlight of the calendar for attendees of the Play Rangers service, made even more special this year by the pre-show appearance of the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Hoop Guy John, both on hand to make sure the evening kicked off in real style.
All of the children who attended were presented with a bag of goodies and smiles and laughter could be seen and heard all around the venue.
Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, Councillor Neil Phillips, said:
“It was an excellent night and by looking at the many smiling faces around me, the children and their families certainly had plenty of fun and will remember the occasion for a long time. It was a pleasure to enjoy the show with the youngsters and hats off to the cast of Sleeping Beauty who really put on a memorable performance.”
The Play Rangers have received over 23,000 attendees over the past 12 months at their sessions, bringing the total to over 60,000 attendances since the service began. They are now looking forward to another super successful year during 2012.
Keep checking the Council website for more details about future Play Rangers events and activities throughout 2012.
