Miners’ Welfare Park Nursery Open Day
Once again the Miners’ Welfare Park Nursery will be opening its doors for the annual plant sale. With just under ten weeks to go the Nursery is being prepared for its annual event. The gates will open from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, 19th May 2007 with a vast array of summer bedding plants for sale, and why not stay for a cup of tea and a homemade cake supplied by NHS Day Services.
The day will see the sale of summer bedding plants such as Impatiens (Busy Lizzies), Pelargoniums, Lobelia, Canna Lilies, Begonias, Marigolds and Chlorophytum (spider plants)
You will also be able to have a look round the new facilities at the Nursery and to find out more about what it takes to make our Borough Bloom. Guided tours and demonstrations will be taking place by our qualified staff throughout the day.
Come down and enter our fantastic plant competition and win a planter for your own garden, entry forms will be available on the day. For the children there will be some free plant growing tasks for them to take away, watch out for more details of these great offers and whilst there don’t forget to put a comment or two in our visitors book.
Paul Daly, Parks & Countryside Officer said today
“The annual Open Day at the Miners’ Welfare Park Nursery has traditionally become one of the most anticipated dates in the ever growing gardening calendar for Nuneaton and Bedworth. Whether you are an experienced gardener or someone who wants to learn more, come along and enjoy the Open Day.”
