Healthy living takeover for Nuneaton Market

HLN Pear
For one day only on 25 March, Nuneaton Market will be taken over by a healthy living market, encouraging local residents to live a healthier lifestyle.

Organised by Nuneaton and Bedworth Healthy Living Network, supported by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and NHS Warwickshire, the market will involve a host of exciting stalls and activities designed to encourage good health.

Sonya Johnson of the Nuneaton and Bedworth Healthy Living Network, said:
“I’m really excited about the event.  We’ve got around 50 different stalls offering a range of activities from cookery demonstrations to baby massage, and fitness activities to health MOTs.  Market medics will be offering one to one health advice and other local health specialists will be available to give advice and information on a number of different health conditions.”

In addition to the stalls and activities there will be lots of free giveaways including vouchers to spend on fruit and vegetables and free nutritious lunches for the first 100 people to visit the Health Café.  There will also be a prize draw offering the chance to win up to £150 in high street vouchers for those attending the market.

Cllr Ian Lloyd, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Communities at Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council said:
“We’re delighted to be supporting the event.  It’s a good opportunity for local people to make the most of their market, have fun and find out more about many of the local services available to help them live a healthier lifestyle.”

The event will be held in Nuneaton Market on 25 March.  It will be opened by the Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth at 9.30am and will close at 4.30pm.
