Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have been working with local schools including Chetwynd Junior School to plan a new play area at Crowhill Rec, to the rear of the Raven Way shops. The final design for the new play area has now been drawn up and work has begun in the park. The new play area will provide a range of play equipment for children of all ages.
Pupils at Chetwynd Junior School made models of what they would like Crowhill Rec to look like and the type of play equipment to be included. The Council design team based the final layout for the park design on their ideas.
The new play area at Crowhill Rec is part of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s eight year Outdoor Play Strategy. The Council is investing £2million to refurbish or replace 44 play areas across the borough.
‘It’s great to see that work will start shortly, Crowhill recreation ground has looked sad and tired for some considerable time and has not been attractive especially to families with young children. It’s also great to see that local children have contributed in planning the new play area.’ said Councillor Marcus Jones ward member for Whitestone
