Community Plan Fund 2007

Due to the success of the projects funded in 2006, Warwickshire County Council and Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council joined in partnership to offer community and voluntary groups in the Borough the opportunity to apply for £100,000 of funding.  The aim of the fund is to enable groups within the Borough to deliver projects that will benefit and improve the well being of local communities and help deliver the aims and objectives of the Sustainable Community Plan.

 

All projects were assessed by a panel of representatives, consisting of adults and young people from local community and voluntary organisations.  An astonishing 60 applications were received from a variety of groups with a total grant request of £239,000, the actual funding available was £100,000 and therefore the overall process was very competitive.

 

The panel assessed each project and discussed the benefit and impact of each would have on the local community.  The panel chose to fund 32 of the projects, all projects have to be completed within one year on receipt of funding and each project will be monitored, reviewed and reported on.
