Over the last few days postal questionnaires will have arrived at 4,000 randomly selected households across the Borough The Place Survey, which will take place every two years, is designed to focus on improving outcomes from all agencies, and service providers working on behalf of local people and places. The scope of the Survey questions recognise that numerous organisations need to achieve, and pull together to improve the local area, and make it a place where all residents can identify with. Survey questions will be asked about a range of local issues including; borough council services, county council services, fire and rescue services, and your local GP, amongst others.
The Survey is being conducted under National guidelines issued by the Audit Commission to ensure consistency, and in order that comparisons can be made using the results.
Delivery envelopes, and questionnaires will be clearly identified with the Council logo and colours, and a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed. A covering letter will also be enclosed signed by the Chief Executive, Christine Kerr, and a designated contact name and telephone number at the Town Hall, will be given, for any questions arising.
All answers given will be treated in the strictest confidence, and will be stored securely. Responses, which will not include personal information such as names and addresses, will only be used by public service organisations to monitor public services and assess how well they are performing.
Councillor Marcus Jones, Leader of the Council, says:
"The Questionnaire is the means of capturing people’s views, experiences and perceptions, so that solutions for an area reflect local views and preferences. It will track people’s changing perceptions, as a way of determining whether interventions made in an area result in the right outcomes for local people.
Please help us with this Survey, if selected, the questionnaire consists of 12 pages, and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete."
