UPDATE:  Since the election count, Councillor John Ison has stepped down from the Conservative party to become an independent.
 
The results of the Local Election have been declared and are as follows:
 
Abbey:
Neil Philips of the Labour Party.  Labour held this seat
 
Arbury:
Kevin Young of the Labour Party.  Labour gained this seat from the Conservatives
 
Attleborough:
Peter Gilbert of the Conservative Party.  The Conservatives held this seat
 
Barpool:
Frank McGale of the Labour Party.  Labour held this seat
 
Bede:
John Haynes of the Labour Party.  Labour held this seat
 
Bulkington:
Des O'Brien of the Conservative Party.  The Conservatives held this seat
 
Camp Hill:
Dennis Harvey of the Labour Party.  Labour held this seat
 
Exhall:
Roma Taylor of the Labour Party.  Labour held this seat
 
Galley Common:
Matt Grant of the Conservative Party.  Conservatives held this seat
 
Heath Ward:
Danny Aldington of the Labour Party.  Labour gained this seat
 
Kingswood:

Poplar:

Whitestone:
Kristofer Wilson of the Conservative Party. Conservatives held this seat
 
 
The County Council by-election for the St Nicolas district was won by Jeff Clarke of the Conservative Party.
 
This means that the Borough Council is now made up as follows:

17 Labour Councillors
14 Conservative Councillors
1 BNP Councillor
2 Independent Councillors.

This means no party has overall control at the Town Hall.  Annual Council will take place next week and will decide the forthcoming Mayor and Council administration.
