Help yourself to Health at your Library
Help yourself to health at your library
Visitors to Nuneaton and Bedworth libraries will be able to help themselves to a dose of health as part of this year’s Health Information Week.
Complementary health mornings are being held at Nuneaton Library on Tuesday 4 July and Bedworth Library on Thursday 6 July from 10am until 12noon. Both sessions are free and anyone can come and join in or have a look at the options.
People will be able to take a health MOT and a qualified professional will take your weight and blood pressure, and give you some fitness advice.
Visitors will also be given a taste of some more alternative therapies including reiki, homeopathy, iridology and even Indian massage!
Counselling and personal therapy information will be available along with advice on how to give up smoking and joining walking groups in Nuneaton and Bedworth. People will also be able to visit our new health website and test your fitness in our online quiz.
Joanna Grindle, Information Senior Team Leader for Warwickshire County Council said: "This is a chance to find out what makes you feel better, or just to read more about a medical condition. There is wealth of information available in libraries that we would like to share."
For those who would like more specialist medical information, a new scheme called ‘Inspire’ allows students and researchers to have access to university and hospital libraries. Anyone interested can ask for a ticket from their local library and make arrangements to consult the resources at George Eliot Hospital Library.
- 10am until 12noon on Tuesday 4th July at Nuneaton Library
- 10am until 12noon on Thursday 6th July at Bedworth Library
