The Mayor, Cllr John Haynes, has received a huge boost with the news that money from sales of a CD will be donated to his charity Appeal.
Cantible Youth Choir announced that they will be contributing £1 from every sale of their latest album 'Aspirations' to the Mayor's Appeal during a visit to the Civic Leader's Parlour recently.
The Choir is Nuneaton-based, accommodates young people aged 9 - 21 years and has gained a reputation for its high performance standard throughout the UK . The group has also represented England in International Competitions. 'Aspirations' is the choir's 4th CD and offers a mixture of well known anthems, folk songs, ballads and show-songs.
The beneficiary of the Mayor's Appeal is Zoe's Place Children's Hospice and the Mayor is urging residents to help out the worthy cause whilst encouraging young singing talent at the same time by buying a copy of the CD.
"This kind gesture by Cantible Youth Choir is hugely appreciated and I'm sure it will make a huge difference to my appeal total, and therefore the hospice, at the end of the year. The group are of a very high standard and well worth a listen to.
"The choir came into the Parlour and it was lovely to meet them all and talk about the successes they have had so far and I wish them the best of luck for the future."
The Mayor, Cllr Haynes.
