Grass throughout the borough is cut at different times depending on the area, the type and on how the land is used.
Grass Cutting
Cutting of grass verges, highways, parks and open spaces starts around the end of March and continues throughout the Summer and Autumn periods.
Cutting is now triggered by the grass reaching a certain height rather than on a timed basis.
Grass Cuttings Removal
We do not remove grass cuttings from large areas e.g., grass verges, parks, open spaces or countryside areas. However, we do remove grass cuttings from formal parks e.g. Miners Welfare Park in Bedworth and Riversley Park in Nuneaton.
Clearing Grass from Pavements
Following mowing in residential areas a follow-up team visits to clear off any clippings from footpaths using a blower. This is generally carried out within three hours of mowing, or before 9am the following day if the mowing is carried out after 2pm.
Weather Conditions
The mowing programme is very weather dependent and there may be occasions when the programme is extended due to inclement weather. We monitor our performance on a daily basis to ensure a good quality of service is maintained.
