Emergency Repairs
The council has an emergency repair service to deal with emergency repairs outside normal working hours. If you have an emergency repair, call the number and give full details of the problem. This number can also be used for urgent housing issues.
Emergencies include;

Dangerous electrical faults

Heating failures during winter months

Major plumbing faults (large scale loss of water)

Homelessness and urgent housing issues
Please remember that the Emergency Repairs Service only deals with emergencies. They should not be called for jobs that can safely be left until normal working hours.
The Emergency Repairs service usually only 'make safe' or carry out temporary repairs, and further work will be carried out during normal working hours.
We may charge you the cost of an emergency call out which proves to be false or unnecessary. This fee could be in the region of £100.
