I have found a stray dog

Anyone who finds a stray dog during office hours (9.00am until 5.00pm) weekdays should use our online form or call the Customer Services Centre and our Animal Wardens will call to collect the dog.

Warwickshire Police will not accept strays at police stations - customers will need to contact this Council.

Out-of-office hours

An out-of-hours service is available from 5.00pm until 7.00pm (weekdays) and from 8.00am until 6.00pm on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays where captured strays can be taken to Pheasants Nest Kennels.

Note that our kennels do not collect dogs, they will only accept those taken to their premises.

The Council is required to deal with stray dogs within its area.  A dog may be treated as a stray if it is roaming freely and not under the control of any person.  Dogs that are picked up are well looked after in kennels for a seven day period after which time we make all attempts to re-home it.
