Community Safety Event

Safer Communities
Local communities from 4 roads in Abbey Ward will be invited to a Partnership Event to address community safety and offer services to improve the quality of life.

Residents from Willington Street, Charles Street, James Street and Stanley Road are invited to attend a community event on the 25th November at the Manor Court Baptist Church, Manor Court Road from 10 – 12 noon; where benefits advice checks, crime prevention and community safety information will  be provided.  The event will also provide an opportunity for the residents of these 4 roads to consider proposals to introduce a pilot ‘Alley-gating’ scheme for the Borough

Councillor Dennis Harvey Leader for the Borough Council said:

‘We welcome any initiative to support our residents and hope that the community living in this area take full advantage of what is on offer.  The Alley Gating scheme has worked well in other areas of the Country and we hope to see a similar positive results in the Abbey Ward’

Councillor Bob Copland Cabinet Member for Housing said:

‘Encouraging a safe and secure environment is essential for the wellbeing of the communities of Nuneaton and Bedworth.  The Housing Department is committed to furthering this aim by linking with partners and communities’
