Sheltered Accommodation with a Housing Association
Housing Associations provide and manage accommodation suitable for elderly people in houses, flats, mobility dwellings for disabled people, or Scheme Manager controlled units. The type of accommodation, facilities and role of the Scheme Manager is similar to that provided by the Council.

Details of Housing Associations who have property in the Borough can be found in the "Housing Associations Booklet". Anyone can apply for rehousing by Housing Association and priority is given to those people considered to be in the greatest need.
The Council has nomination rights with Housing Associations with properties in the Borough, which means that if you are on the Council’s housing register and meet the general lettings policy of the Association, you can be nominated for rehousing.
The Council cannot oblige the Association into accepting a nomination, as they have the final say on who they let their property to. Housing Associations may have a long housing register, and you may have to wait a long time before they can help you.

It may also be possible for your property to be adapted with the installation of a stair lift, shower, bath seat, or tap grips for example.

If home care would not be sufficient for your need, there are three kinds of homes for you to consider:
- Residential Care Homes - To provide help with people who can no longer carry out everyday functions without assistance, but do not require nursing care. Residential Homes are run by Warwickshire County Council Social Services, Warwickshire Care Services (a not for profit charitable trust), and Privately Owned.
- Nursing Homes - To provide 24 hour care to meet the needs of people who require nursing supervision
- Dual Homes - To provide for both of the above needs

A social worker will then provide you with all the information you need to help you decide whether you wish to proceed with an application.
